STRIKING! A Theatrical Experience
STRIKING! Is a story about the fictional city of Maroon City-- a city dedicated to the arts--theaters and film. Every artist who comes to Maroon City has the goal of becoming an elite Maroon, the highest status of artistry in Maroon city, guaranteeing a lifetime of comfort and creativity. However, one must be chosen to become a Maroon based on their performances. "Will and Desire" is a stage play inside of STRIKING! that is rehearsing and hopefully a ticket for the cast to become Maroons! Will and Desire is written and directed by Juke, the star of Will and Desire is Desire, with the principal actress being Lydia and the understudy being Paloma--a wonderful singer, who is desperately trying to use theater to become a Maroon, although she can't act nor does she understand the power of theater. In the middle of rehearsal, a writer's strike is announced which postpones the production of Will and Desire and curtails their chances of becoming Maroons, prompting desperate decisions. The fallout is murder, betrayal, lies and transformation. If you are a writer, director, actor, actress, singer, stage manager, hostess or host--if you've pleasantly experienced any part in producing a theater production, stage play or movie, or if you just enjoy sitting in the audience of a great stage play, STRIKING! is the show for you. It is about the workings of how actors and directors and writers come together through conflict on and off stage to build unforgettable shows and careers!
